Noordhoek Beach stretches on for 8 beautiful kilometres in the suburb of Noordhoek, Cape Town. As you head over Chapman’s Peak, you will be welcomed by the picturesque shoreline below that meanders towards Kommetjie in the not so far distance.
The great thing about this beach is that it is large and never feels crowded, so you’re ensured a leisurely day in the sun while on a trained horse - the beach is also a popular spot for surfing, kite surfing, windsurfing, sun tanning, dog walking.
Noordhoek is situated below the Southern Slopes of Chapman’s Peak Drive and is Cape Town’s rural treasure with a farm atmosphere. It is famed for its long white sandy beach, ideal for horse riding on the beach for a close up natural experience.

Description
We offer approx. 1hour 30 minute guided beach ride leaving from Imhoff Farm Kommetjie, riding straight through the wetlands onto beautiful Noordhoek beach. Riding along the water’s edge or the back pan towards Chapman’s Peak and back. A variety of wildlife can often be seen on the beach rides e.g. birdlife, whales, otters and seals.
We have 3 rides daily 9am, 12pm and 3.30pm depending on the season.
More information
- You need to wear long trousers and closed shoes or boots with a slight heel.
- We require that you arrive at the farm at least 30 min before your ride (no refunds given to no shows, late arrivals or incorrect dress attire).
- This is a scenic walking outride and NO galloping, cantering or trotting is allowed on the rides. Riders are not allowed to overtake the guide at any stage during the outride.
- Note that the outrides are group outrides (we accommodate up to 8 people per outride).
- If you are not available to start your outride on time, Imhoff will make an attempt to contact you using the email address or contact number provided at the time of making the booking. If you’re not contactable or are therefore not available to start the tour at your scheduled ride time, your outride will be cancelled but no refund will be due.
- No outride will continue without an indemnity signed.
- Riding hats are supplied and are compulsory but if you have your own, please bring it along.
- English saddles are used on our beach rides.
- Moms to be: We apologise – due to the nature of the activity, this outride is not for you while pregnant.
- Horse Riding is considered an extreme sport and horses can be unpredictable and may kick, bite or lunge in any direction at any time.

General/Standard cancellation policy
- Cancellation outside 14 days prior to tour date:
100% credit as Travel Credit / 95% refund - Cancellation 14-7 days prior to tour date:
100% credit as Travel Credit / 80% refund - Cancellation 3-6 days prior to tour date:
50% refund - Cancellation 2 days prior to tour date, late arrivals or “no show”:
No refund / Full fee charged
* The general / standard cancellation policy applies to all products excluding specific Packages, Kruger Tours and Private/Custom made tours.
* All transaction / transfer fees and/or forex conversion costs charged by the banks during the refund process will be billed to you (client).
* Refunds and Travel Credit values are calculated in our local ZAR (South African Rand) currency. Transaction values in your own currency could be affected due to bank fees and currency exchange fluctuations. Refunds are usually made back to the original source of payment method.
* The Travel Credit option may be selected up till 7 days prior to your start / departure date. The travel credit should be used within a 24 month period from the issue date unless stated otherwise. Where a travel credit option is selected, payment in FULL must be made to Cape Xtreme if the booking was made through a Travel Agent. Please be advised that a travel credit is selected instead of a cancellation charge and will result in no refunds being issued. After the travel credit has been selected no further alterations can be made / no refunds will be issued should you make any changes again.
