11 Days Cape Town, Garden Route & Kruger Package

DAY 1 (Tuesday): PACKAGE START
ARRIVAL IN CAPE TOWN
We start with your arrival in Cape Town, affectionately known as The Mother City, your driver will be waiting at the airport to collect you and take you to your accommodation. The rest of the day is a ‘free day’ where you have a choice of going on one of our MANY amazing activities (to be booked in advance with us) such as wine tasting, sandboarding, shark cage diving, paragliding, skydiving, and many more; OR you can spend your day at your own leisure and go sightseeing, visiting the local markets or just lazing at the beach.

On ‘free days’ all transport to and from activities you have booked will be for your own account should transport not be included in the activity price.

We will arrange / book your Airport pick up and drop you off at Ashanti Lodge Gardens where you will be staying for nights 1, 2, 3 & 6 of your package.

DAY 2 (Wednesday): CAPE TOWN
ULTIMATE CAPE POINT TOUR
This morning you will depart on our full day Ultimate Cape Point Tour.

This Peninsula Tour has been designed specifically with the all traveller in mind. Those travellers especially with the desire to see, taste, learn and experience something different from the norm. We try to show all the unique histories, cultures and people that make Cape Town, Cape Town.

We begin the morning with a leisurely stroll along the cobbled streets and brightly coloured houses of the Bo Kaap before heading through the exclusive seaside suburbs of Clifton and Camps Bay where we have a short photo stop.

We then carry on along Victoria Drive, through Hout Bay and along the scenic Chapman’s Peak Drive eventually arriving at The Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve where we have a 40 minute hike from the most south west tip of Africa, Cape of Good Hope to the Cape Point Lighthouse. We then start driving north to Boulder Beach Penguin colony, where you can view them from the boardwalk and, should you wish, go inside to view them even closer (optional extra)!

By this stage you would have built up quite an appetite so we will stop for lunch (own account). After everyone has had their fill, we stop briefly at the Shark Spotter, entrusted by the local surfers of Muizenberg to look out for Great White Sharks. We then travel through the lush Constantia Valley to the oldest wine farm outside of Europe for a relaxing end of the day wine tasting experience (optional extra) where we also learn about the history of farming in the Cape in beautiful surroundings.

DAY 3 (Thursday): CAPE TOWN
‘FREE DAY’ / ‘FREE TIME’
Today you have a ‘free day’ where you have the choice of going on another one of our MANY amazing activities (to be prebooked and paid in advance with us) such as sandboarding, quad biking, paragliding, skydiving, and many more; OR you can spend your day at your own leisure and go sightseeing, visiting the local markets or just lazing at the beach.

On ‘free days’ all transport to and from activities you have booked will be for your own account should transport not be included in the activity price.

DAY 4 (Friday): CAPE TOWN TO SEDGEFIELD
OVERBERG, GARDEN ROUTE, GAME DRIVE, MYOLI BEACH
This morning you will depart on our 3 Day Big 5 & Bungy Tour, travelling for the next 3 days up to the Garden Route.

We leave the mother city behind and head east along the N2 past Swellendam, the third oldest town in South Africa to a Private Game Reserve on the edge of the Garden Route. Here we go on a safari where we search for lions, cheetah, hippo, elephants, buffalo and many more wild animals.

After lunch you have the option to either 1) enjoy a canopy tour where you can experience the thrill of crossing rope bridges, wobbly crossings and zip wires high up in the trees or 2) experience a fun forest and bush quad bike ride or 3) go on a kayak/canoeing trip and discover the natural beauty of Kaaimans and visit the waterfall. Next we carry on our way to Sedgefield where we will be spending the night.

DAY 5 (Saturday): SEDGEFIELD TO TSITSIKAMMA TO SEDGEFIEL
GARDEN ROUTE, KNYSNA, BLOUKRANS BUNGY, ELEPHANT BUSH WALK
We begin our day with a visit to a popular local farmers and craft market in the village. We then make our way to a sanctuary for orphaned elephants where you have the option to learn about these gentle giants and go on an Elephant Bush Walk OR you can choose to visit a Monkeyland Primate Sanctuary where rescued monkeys roam free in a large jungle area.

Our next stop is always one of the highlights of the tour . . . the Bloukrans River Bridge, home to the World’s highest commercial Bungy Jump at 216 meters!

From here it’s back to Sedgefield where you will have some beach time at Myoli beach and then we carry on with the festivities.

DAY 6 (Sunday): SEDGEFIELD TO CAPE TOWN – VIA ROUTE 62 & OUDTSHOORN
KLEIN KAROO, OUDTSHOORN, CANGO CAVES, ROUTE 62
We head over the Outeniqua Mountains to the Town of Oudtshoorn, known as the “Ostrich Capital of the world”. Here we visit the Cango Caves to go on either an adventure or standard tour through some very large chambers with spectacular limestone formations that are millions of years old. If you chose the adventure tour be prepared to start squeezing through some very tight spaces.

If caves are not for you, then you will be able to visit an Endangered Wildlife Sanctuary, home to many local and exotic endangered species.

We then start heading home along the scenic Route 62 through the Klein Karoo.

Upon return back in Cape Town you will be dropped off directly at the Airport for your flight to Johannesburg.

When you land/ / arrival in Johannesburg a driver will be waiting at the airport to collect you and take you to Brown Sugar Backpackers Lodge where you will be staying this evening and your final evening.

Note that the next day (Day 7) the 4 Day ‘Kruger’ Tour section of this package starts and you have to be in Johannesburg for this departure.

It is advised that you book your flight from Cape Town International Airport to O R Tambo International Airport for THIS evening of Day 6 (flight departure anytime from 8pm).

Remember that your internal flight from Cape Town to Johannesburg is NOT included in this package.

DAY 7 (Monday): JOHANNESBURG TO KRUGER
SUNSET DRIVE, GREATER KRUGER
This morning you will depart on your “Kruger” section’ of this package, the 4 Day Tremisana/Treehouse Safari.

You are collected from your Johannesburg accommodation and travel via farmlands to the picturesque Lowveld and on to Tremisana Game Lodge in the Balule Section of the Kruger Park. After a short break, during which you may unwind at the bar, have a swim or relax in the tropical gardens, you board an open Landcruiser for a 4h Sunset Drive. Your guide will show you various animals and birds and after darkness falls, spotlights are used to locate nocturnal species. Dinner will be an unforgettable bush BBQ at the Marula Tree Boma. After dinner continue the Night Drive and overnight in comfortable air-conditioned en suite thatch-roofed chalets.

DAY 8 (Tuesday): GREATER KRUGER
BUSH WALK, AFTERNOON GAME DRIVE
Awaken at sunrise for an exhilarating day of unforgettable bush life. Drive to a remote part of the Balule Game Reserve, where you enjoy a 4h Bush Walk. Your experienced field guide will lead you through the bush. The thrill of following Africa’s large animals until you can take a photo will remain with you forever. Adrenaline surges will be acute, notwithstanding the presence of your armed ranger. Return to Tremisana for brunch. Lunch will be served in the Lapa at 13h30. At around 15h00 you go on an afternoon game drive. You are then transferred to Marc’s Treehouse Lodge where accommodation is in fascinating and romantic treehouses.

DAY 9 (Wednesday): KRUGER NATIONAL PARK
GAME VIEWING
Drive to the Orpen Gate of Kruger on a custom-built open-sided Gameviewer. You will have an opportunity to view game without intervening glass windows and also listen to and smell the denizens of the bush. There will be regular stops at picnic spots, restcamps and places of interest. The Orpen-Satara-Nwanedzi regions’ open plains attract large herds of zebra, giraffe and antelope that, in turn, attract many predators. In fact this zone has the highest concentration of lions in Africa.

DAY 10 (Thursday): KRUGER TO JOHANNESBURG
BUSH WALK, BLYDE RIVER CANYON
Complete the Kruger experience with a Sunrise Walk then after breakfast, drive via the Panorama Route to see the scenic splendours of the Blyde River Canyon with a stop at the magnificent Three Rondawels. We return to Johannesburg in the late afternoon. Airport drop-off by arrangement.

• Cancellation 14 days prior to tour date: No refund / Full fee charged

* All transaction / transfer fees and/or forex conversion costs charged by the banks during the refund process will be billed to you (client).

* Refund values are calculated in our local ZAR (South African Rand) currency. Transaction values in your own currency could be affected due to bank fees and currency exchange fluctuations. Refunds are usually made back to the original source of payment method.
