Watching the sun dip below the horizon from the deck of a luxury catamaran off the stunning Cape coast is truly an unmissable experience—one you'll likely want to repeat again and again.

Departing from the V&A Waterfront, the vessels follow a set course, cruising slowly along the iconic Atlantic Seaboard toward Clifton Beach. We return along the same route after sunset.

The luxury catamarans are the ideal setting for this daily ritual. With two complimentary glasses of Prosecco provided for your sunset toast, plus a fully stocked bar for any other drinks, it's the perfect deluxe, mobile venue. This cruise is a superb way to salute the end of the day and kick off your evening's entertainment.

Since sailboats rely on the wind, this cruise doesn't follow a fixed route or destination. You will be informed before departure of the expected sailing direction before we depart. During the typical Cape Town summer, the prevailing south-easterly wind guides us. Our journey usually involves motoring out of the harbour, then sailing across Table Bay towards the Milnerton lighthouse. We then return to Granger Bay, nestled on the lee side of Table Mountain, to enjoy the sunset before motoring back to the Waterfront. In the winter months, when the north-westerly wind dominates, we will head in the opposite direction—either toward the beautiful Clifton Coastline or the Robben Island Coastline, also concluding in Granger Bay. Because wind and sea conditions are constantly changing, the exact routing and style of the cruise may be adjusted daily. Rest assured, your experienced skipper and crew will use their expertise to ensure you have the best possible adventure.

Unlike the sailing boats, the motor vessels are not reliant on the wind, allowing them to follow a reliable, set course. The standard route involves slowly cruising along the renowned Atlantic Seaboard toward Clifton Beach. After the sun sets, the vessel returns to the harbour by following the same path.

Critical Arrival & Logistical Instructions

• Arrival Window: You are required to arrive at the cruise offices strictly 30 minutes before your scheduled cruise departure time to collect your boarding pass. Boarding starts 15 minutes before your scheduled cruise departure time. For example, if your cruise is scheduled to depart at 17:00, you must be on-site and collect your pass at 16:30 and board at 16:45.
• Lateness Consequences: If you are late, you risk missing your trip completely. Your booking will be marked as a non-refundable "no-show" and your fees will be forfeited.
• Location Warning: You must go straight to the meeting location / charter office at the V&A Waterfront. Do not go to Maitland / Cape Xtreme's offices. You will be at the wrong location and you will miss your booking/forfeit your booking entirely (no refund/reschedule).

Inclusions & Exclusions

• ✅ What’s Included: 1½ Hrs cruise on a premium vessel, complimentary drink, and access to an onboard cash bar.
• ❎ What’s Excluded: Round-trip transport (hotel pickup & drop off), meals, snacks, refreshments, all items of a personal nature.
  

What to Wear & Bring

• Stay Warm: Even on warm summer days, air temperatures on the water drop rapidly on the return leg after the sun sets. Bringing a warm jacket is highly recommended.
• Sun Protection: Don't forget to wear a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen to protect yourself from afternoon rays.
• Footwear Requirements: Wear comfortable, flat shoes. High heels are strictly not recommended for safety aboard moving vessels.

Vessel Logistics & Weather Adjustments

• Vessel Pooling & Availability: This cruise draws from a collaborative pool of available vessels.
• Alternative Vessel Assurance – In the unlikely event that the primary boat for this cruise is unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances, we reserve the right to utilize an alternative vessel for this experience. Be assured that every possible effort will always be made to ensure that the advertised vessel is available. Some Cruises do not have a dedicated boat for the cruise and rely on a pool of available vessels to cover fluctuations in weather, seasonal passenger numbers and planned maintenance.
• The Harbour Lights Cruise: If the open sea is too rough or wind speeds are unpleasantly strong, the vessel will not venture into Table Bay. Instead, the itinerary shifts to a Harbour Lights Cruise within the absolute shelter of the Cape Town Harbour. This alternative provides magical evening views of Table Mountain alongside the sparkling lights of the city and active docks.
• Dockside Exception: In cases of truly extreme weather, the skipper will evaluate conditions, and the cruise may be kept safely dockside. Passenger safety remains the absolute priority.

Seasonal Departure & Return Schedule

Departure times vary significantly throughout the year to align perfectly with the setting sun. Passengers must double-check their specific date bracket and arrive early to ensure they are safely aboard before the vessel sails.

Cancellation / Refund Policy

GENERAL/STANDARD CANCELLATION POLICY
Please be advised that the cancellation fee & refund percentage (%) is applicable to the TOTAL tour/activity price LESS a less 5% transaction fee in the case of online or POS card transactions made for payment. This represents a direct bank processing cost and is not a revenue-generating charge.

Cancellation or changes:

• 15 days or more prior to tour date = 100% Refund
• 14-4 days prior to tour date = 50% Refund
• 3-0 days prior to tour date, late arrivals or “NO-SHOWS” = 0%/No Refund

❗️Late arrivals and/or no-shows for a tour/activity/time slot, regardless of the reason, unfortunately forfeit the full booking. Similar to booking an airline ticket; the plane will not wait for any passenger that is late. Please ensure you are on time for your booking.
❗️All transaction/transfer fees and/or forex conversion costs charged by the banks during the refund process will be billed to you (the client/booking holder)
❗️Refund and credit values are calculated in our local ZAR (South African Rand) currency. Transaction values in your own currency could be affected due to bank fees and currency exchange fluctuations.
