Experience Overview

On the day of your flight, you will meet your professional, qualified pilot at the staging area.

After a quick safety brief and a short launch run, you will step into the air, sit back, and relax completely in your secure harness while soaking up panoramic views over the city and the Atlantic Ocean.

To wrap up the adventure, be prepared for a final heart-racing adrenaline rush as your pilot executes exciting spirals down toward the landing zone.

Critical Arrival & Logistical Instructions

• Arrival Notice: You are required to arrive at the venue strictly 30 minutes prior to your scheduled slot. This buffer is essential to handle mandatory check-in steps, including completing indemnity waivers, conducting safety briefings, and fitting helmets. For example, if your session is booked for 10:00 AM, you must be on-site and ready by 9:30 AM.
• Location Warning: You must go straight to the launch site on Signal Hill. Do not go to Maitland / Cape Xtreme's offices. You will be at the wrong location and you will miss your booking/forfeit your booking entirely (no refund/reschedule).
• Time Slot Availability: Your selected time slot is a preference and is not guaranteed at the time of submission. Once we receive your request/booking, we will check availability and confirm your slot. We will either send over your official confirmation or immediately contact you with alternative times or dates if your preferred slot is not available.

Inclusions & Exclusions

• ✅ What’s Included: A fully qualified professional tandem paragliding instructor and all required premium flight safety equipment.
• ❎ What’s Excluded: Round-trip transport (hotel pickup & drop off), meals, snacks, refreshments, digital souvenir pictures/video footage (available as an extra), and all items of a personal nature.

What to Wear & Bring

• Clothing: Wear comfortable outdoor clothes. Because it gets significantly cooler while flying through the air, bringing a warm top or jacket is highly recommended.
• Footwear: Sturdy, closed running shoes or athletic trainers are mandatory to ensure a safe takeoff and landing run. Sandals, flip-flops, or slip-on shoes are strictly prohibited.
• Sun Protection: Apply sunblock before arrival and bring a hat for the staging areas.
• Vision: If you wear contact lenses or prescription spectacles, you can wear them normally during the flight.
• Spectators: Friends, family, and spectators are welcome to join at the launch area or wait at the landing zone to watch you touch down.

Launch Sites & Flight Options

Weather and wind directions dictate the launch site utilized for your safety: 

• Signal Hill (Primary Site): This is our most common launch site. You will take off from the slopes of Signal Hill within the Table Mountain National Park and enjoy unmatched views of Table Mountain before gliding down to land smoothly on the Sea Point Promenade.
• Lion's Head (Alternative Site): On rare days when wind conditions permit, flights may launch from the slopes of Lion's Head and land between Camps Bay and Clifton.
  • Note: Flying from Lion's Head requires a moderate 15- to 20-minute walk from the parking area up to the launch spot (please note this is not a hike to the summit).

Media Capture: In-Flight Photos & Video

To commemorate your aerial adventure, pilots capture your entire experience utilizing specialized, wide-angle GoPro-style cameras. Upon landing on the promenade, you will have the opportunity to view your high-quality in-flight pictures and videos. You can then decide on-site if you would like to purchase them.

• Media Cost: Between R300 and R350 per person.
• Payment: Payable directly to the pilots on the day.

Safety Rules & Participant Requirements

• Indemnity Waivers: All participants must sign an indemnity waiver to partake in the activity. Guests under 18 years old require a parent or legal guardian to sign on their behalf.
• Minimum Age: Participants must be at least 14 years old to fly.
• Weight Limits: The minimum weight limit is 15 kg, and the maximum weight limit is strictly capped at 110 kg.
• Experience & Skill Level: Absolutely no prior paragliding experience, technical qualifications, or certifications are required. Your instructor manages all aspects of the launch, flight, and landing. This activity takes place "at your own risk".

Cancellation / Refund Policy

GENERAL/STANDARD CANCELLATION POLICY
Please be advised that the cancellation fee & refund percentage (%) is applicable to the TOTAL tour/activity price LESS a less 5% transaction fee in the case of online or POS card transactions made for payment. This represents a direct bank processing cost and is not a revenue-generating charge.

Cancellation or changes:

• 15 days or more prior to tour date = 100% Refund
• 14-4 days prior to tour date = 50% Refund
• 3-0 days prior to tour date, late arrivals or “NO-SHOWS” = 0%/No Refund

❗️Late arrivals and/or no-shows for a tour/activity/time slot, regardless of the reason, unfortunately forfeit the full booking. Similar to booking an airline ticket; the plane will not wait for any passenger that is late. Please ensure you are on time for your booking.
❗️All transaction/transfer fees and/or forex conversion costs charged by the banks during the refund process will be billed to you (the client/booking holder)
❗️Refund and credit values are calculated in our local ZAR (South African Rand) currency. Transaction values in your own currency could be affected due to bank fees and currency exchange fluctuations.
