The Ocean Safaris are exhilarating eco-adventures aboard stunning RIB vessels. This is an amazing way to get up close and personal with the wildlife living in the Atlantic waters as we cruise the coastline. The experienced and knowledgeable skippers will guide your journey.

The adventure boats offer the perfect platform for you to appreciate the beauty of the ocean and witness the plethora of creatures that inhabit the Cape Town Atlantic coastline. On these fun Ocean Safari cruises, you stand a chance of seeing a wide variety of wildlife: from Cape fur seals and dolphins to whales, penguins, sunfish, and a selection of seabirds, and potentially even orcas!

While we cannot guarantee sightings, we will thoroughly navigate Table Bay at a relaxed pace. The goal is to give you the best possible opportunity to spot your favourite sea creatures and perhaps meet some new ones. Regardless of what we see, you are guaranteed a memorable Atlantic ocean experience.

Critical Arrival & Logistical Instructions

• Arrival Window: You are required to arrive at the cruise offices strictly 30 minutes before your scheduled cruise departure time to collect your boarding pass. Boarding starts 15 minutes before your scheduled cruise departure time. For example, if your cruise is scheduled to depart at 10:30, you must be on-site and collect your pass at 10:00 and board at 10:15.
• Lateness Consequences: If you are late, you risk missing your trip completely. Your booking will be marked as a non-refundable "no-show" and your fees will be forfeited.
• Location Warning: You must go straight to the meeting location / charter office at the V&A Waterfront. Do not go to Maitland / Cape Xtreme's offices. You will be at the wrong location and you will miss your booking/forfeit your booking entirely (no refund/reschedule).
• Time Slot Availability: Your selected time slot is a preference and is not guaranteed at the time of submission. Once we receive your request/booking, we will check availability and confirm your slot. We will either send over your official confirmation or immediately contact you with alternative times or dates if your preferred slot is not available.

Inclusions & Exclusions

• ✅ What’s Included: Eco Guide, life jackets, a short ride out of the harbour, followed by a slow search for marine life.
• ❎ What’s Excluded: Round-trip transport (hotel pickup & drop off), meals, snacks, refreshments, all items of a personal nature.

What to Wear & Bring

• Stay Warm: Even on warm summer days, air temperatures on the water drop rapidly on the water. Bringing a warm jacket is highly recommended.
• Sun Protection: Don't forget to wear a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen to protect yourself from the sun.
• Footwear Requirements: Wear comfortable, flat shoes. High heels are strictly not recommended for safety aboard moving vessels.

Safety Rules & Participant Requirements

Passenger safety is the absolute top priority on these high-performance RIB adventure vessels. The boat features specialized seating configurations alongside specific physical and medical constraints to ensure the wellbeing of all guests:

• Front Straddle Seats: Positioned in the bow of the craft, these specialized seats require riders to sit astride them. To ensure safety, a maximum weight limit of 80 kg per person is strictly enforced on all front seats.
• Rear Bench Seating: A conventional bench seat at the back of the boat can comfortably accommodate up to 3 passengers who prefer a traditional seated experience over a straddle mount. A maximum weight limit of 100 kg per person is enforced on all back seats.
• Safety Gear Fittings: High-visibility lifejackets/Personal Flotation Devices (PFDs) are provided and mandatory for all participants. Onboard lifejackets accommodate chest sizes ranging between 60 cm and 125 cm.
  
• Minimum Age: Participants must be at least 13 years old to board. All children must be accompanied and directly supervised by a responsible adult.
• Minimum Height Limit: All passengers must stand at least 1.2 meters tall. Riders must have the leg length to safely straddle the seats with both feet placed flat on the deck.
• Strict Medical Exclusions: The physical motion of a high-performance RIB vessel can adversely affect pre-existing medical conditions. Consequently, this cruise is strictly unavailable to individuals experiencing:
  ➖ Pregnancy.
  ➖ High blood pressure or chronic heart conditions.
  ➖ Acute or chronic back and knee injuries.
• Medical Clearance Exception: Any person with a declared or known medical condition will be legally barred from boarding unless they hand in a physical medical certificate explicitly approving the trip, signed by a registered practitioner within the previous 30 days.

Cancellation / Refund Policy

GENERAL/STANDARD CANCELLATION POLICY
Please be advised that the cancellation fee & refund percentage (%) is applicable to the TOTAL tour/activity price LESS a less 5% transaction fee in the case of online or POS card transactions made for payment. This represents a direct bank processing cost and is not a revenue-generating charge.

Cancellation or changes:

• 15 days or more prior to tour date = 100% Refund
• 14-4 days prior to tour date = 50% Refund
• 3-0 days prior to tour date, late arrivals or “NO-SHOWS” = 0%/No Refund

❗️Late arrivals and/or no-shows for a tour/activity/time slot, regardless of the reason, unfortunately forfeit the full booking. Similar to booking an airline ticket; the plane will not wait for any passenger that is late. Please ensure you are on time for your booking.
❗️All transaction/transfer fees and/or forex conversion costs charged by the banks during the refund process will be billed to you (the client/booking holder)
❗️Refund and credit values are calculated in our local ZAR (South African Rand) currency. Transaction values in your own currency could be affected due to bank fees and currency exchange fluctuations.
