Safari Day Tours at Aquila Private Game Reserve

A Private Game Reserve and luxury safari lodge, under a two hour scenic drive via the N1 from Cape Town. It is located in the Touws River and Ceres region. Proclaimed a Private Nature Reserve in 1985, this 4 star, malaria free, 4, 500 hectare reserve is steeped in Khoi San and Boer War history and boasts 3 pristine biomes of vegetation set in the most magnificent Karoo mountains, valleys, rivers and kloofs.

Large herds of game are found on the Reserve such as Black & Blue Wildebeest, Burchell’s Zebra, Springbok, Gemsbok, Steenbok, Caracal (lynx), Blesbok, Bat Eared Fox, Ostriches, Klip Springer, Duiker, Greybuck, Baboon, Black Backed Jackal, Eland, Red Hartebeest.

The reserve is home to the big 5 legends of the wilderness. Elephant, lion, buffalo, leopard and rhino, synonymous with Africa, roam the outskirts.

Children’S price policy
**Applicable only to Afternoon & Full Day Safari
**Not applicable to Quad, Horseback & Combo Safari
Children of all ages are allowed on the standard traditional 4×4 vehicle safari experience. An age restriction of 16 years old applies for the quad bike and horseback activity.
• Children aged 0 to 3 = free with accompanying adults
• Children aged 4 to 11 = 50% of the day per person rate
• Children 12 and older = pay the adult rate

Quad Bike Safari
The quad bike experience is a firm favourite and involves roughing it up within the 10,000 hectare wildlife conservancy of Aquila.

250cc horsepower quad bikes. There are a maximum number of 10 people per quad bike experience, and one person per quad bike. The quad bike experience is guided by two qualified rangers.

Combo Safari
Vehicle Safari – Traditional Game Drive: Combines the 2 to 3 hour morning Big 5 traditional game drive and either a 1.5 hour afternoon horseback or quad bike outride together.

Option 1 – Quad Bike Outride: Maximum weight per person is 90Kgs. Min. age is 16 years and older. 250cc horsepower quad bikes. There are a maximum number of 10 people per quad bike experience, and one person per quad bike. The quad bike experience is guided by two qualified rangers. The quad bike experience involves roughing it up with an experienced wildlife guide within the 10,000 hectare conservancy.

Option 2 – Horseback Outride: Maximum weight per person is 95Kgs. Min. age is 16 years and older. The horseback experience is guided by two qualified rangers.
