Details
One of the most unique places in the world - a penguin colony in suburban Cape Town! And the best way to see it is from the water. We leave from Simon's Town Waterfront and paddle past the civilian and Naval Harbor and out to Boulder's Beach. On the way you will normally encounter a number of seals. If the time and tide is right you may stop on a beach for a swimming break, or else you can swim from the kayaks and get a close up look at penguins nearby.
Our double kayaks are very stable and perfect for those with no paddling experience. By far our most popular trip.

Arrangements
Duration: Approx 2 hours
When: 7 Days a week. Weather permitting.
The daily scheduled trip leaves at 8:30 am in the summer season (Sept till Apr) and 9:00 am winter season (May till Aug) when it is usually less windy and penguin sightings are improved. In peak summer season/weekends (Sept till Apr) we also at times have an 11:00 am trip. Groups of 4 or more can arrange an afternoon starting time upon request (subject to availability).
Where: Simons Town Waterfront
What to Wear: Wear swimming trunks and t-shirts. If it's chilly, bring a windbreaker as well. You can wear whatever you like and feel comfortable in but assume it will all get wet. Barefoot is fine but you can wear shoes or sandals although flip flops are not recommended. Bring a towel and change of clothing for afterward.
Things to Bring: Water, and a snack if you prefer. You should bring a towel and a change of clothes in case you get wet and want to change. Don't forget your hat, sunglasses and sunscreen. The guide will usually have a camera with him/her to take pictures of you which are posted on Facebook but you are welcome to bring your own. Ask for a tupperware box to protect it.
