Experience a close encounter with the gentle giants of the ocean by joining us on an informative and educational whale watching trip.

Our permit entitles us to approach the whales up to 50m and then we stop to observe, it is then up to the whales to approach closer. Being naturally curious, the whales often come right up to the boat. It is definitely ‘a magical experience to be treasured’.

The whale watching trip begins with an on-land briefing presented by our whale specialist guide before heading down the jetty to our catamaran. We then set off from the Hermanus New Harbour in search of the ‘gentle giants.’ During the tour our friendly, knowledgeable crew adds that personal touch to ensure an all-round great experience, from ensuring you don’t miss the perfect photo opportunities to serving complimentary light refreshments.

Our Whale Specialist guide will interpret the marine life encountered en route and provide insight into the behaviour of the whales while you are watching them in action. Our videographer will ensure that the best footage is captured.

Hermanus Whale Watching season
The peak whale season runs from June to mid – December, annually. The exact date all depends when the star performers arrive and depart.

The boat based whale watching trip is from 1hr 30m – 3hrs maximum. It depends on traveling time to the whales on that trip; the time spent with them is the same. The duration of the trip is normally an averages at 2 hours.
