Description
Join a guided Quad Bike ride just 45 minutes from the centre of Cape Town at the incredible Atlantis Dunes, 27 square kilometres of pure white sand dunes, sometimes reaching the height of a six-storey building.

The guided ride takes you through these open dunes that are very reminiscent of those found in the Namibian desert, with beautifully white sand and dunes undulated by the wind.

We try to accommodate parties of all sizes, with off season callouts ranging from 2 to 15 people in one session. This size limitation is for safety reasons as larger groups will require additional guides. In most cases larger groups unfortunately have to be split up and done in multiple rotations.

Arrangements
What to Wear/Bring: Comfortable clothes, closed shoes, sunblock, sunglasses & warm jacket in winter (dress warm in winter and bring a windbreaker/rain jacket). Water (min 1L pp). It is important to stay hydrate, especially in summer when it gets really hot at and on the dunes. There are no shops at the Dunes, only toilets.
Guests or Spectators: Only paying guests allowed. No spectators.

Requirements
Minimum Age: 4 years
Please note the minimum age is 13 years old to ride. Children 4-12 years old have to be booked as ride-alongs and travel/ride with a quad bike guide/parent. For this we require 1 Adult per child. We are unfortunately not able to assist kids-only groups for under 13 year olds at the Dunes. Any children joining needs to be communicated to us prior to your trip so proper arrangements can be made to accommodate. The guide reserves the right to change ride-along arrangements in the interests of client safety.

More notes/information
Kindly ensure you arrive at the venue strictly 30 minutes before your Quad Bike booked time. Should you arrive late your booking forfeited and will therefore not be refundable and you will not be able to reschedule.

Are there any toilet facilities?
Yes there are, but not what most would consider amazing. If possible it is suggested that you make use of toilet facilities before leaving your point of departure or at a petrol station that you pass on your way here.

What happens if you are late?
Please make sure you leave your destination early enough to arrive on time (allow more travel time) and try to account for any possible unforeseen travel delays. If you are late you could end up losing time on your ride (shorter ride) & be charged a late arrival penalty fee OR you could miss out on your ride COMPLETELY and your booking will be seen as a 'no show' resulting in NO refund. Activities at the dunes are VERY busy and will not be able to allow extra time as there are other rides/groups booked.

Please see below for further to the Late Arrival Policy.

What kind of bikes will you be riding?
Semi–Automatic Quad Bikes that allow you to drive over every possible dune in the facility with ease, with the only input the driver needs to put in is gas, brakes and steer.

Are the bikes difficult to ride?
The bikes are very stable and make it easy for even first time riders who usually need only 10 minutes on the Quad Bike to learn how to control it. We cater the course according to the skill of the combined group and drive at the pace that suits the abilities shown by the riders.

Damages
Should you (the client) damage the quad bike by driving into another quad bike or obstruction or ‘roll-it’,you shall be held liable and be required to pay for the damages as determined by the guide on duty before you leave the activity area. Should there be a dispute between the 2 parties, the hirer of the equipment shall nonetheless pay for the damages before leaving the activity area. The owners of the quad bikes will provide invoices for the replacement parts and labour with-in 14 days and provide the hirer a refund if damages claimed is more than then damage sustained.

Weather Policy
Our Quad Biking is an all-weather activity, and operates in various weather conditions, including light rain. Our policy regarding weather conditions is as follows:
1. Quad Biking is Not Weather-Dependent

Our quad biking experiences continue as usual in light rain. Wet conditions can enhance the adventure, making the experience even more thrilling. No cancellations or refunds will be issued due to rain.
2. Extreme Weather Conditions

In the case of extreme weather conditions that pose a safety risk (such as severe storms, heavy downpours, flooding, or lightning), we reserve the right to cancel the activity.
If we have to cancel due to extreme weather, participants will be given the option to reschedule their booking to a different date or be refunded.
3. Customer Responsibility
It is the client’s own responsibility to check weather conditions before their booking. Participants are advised to dress appropriately for weather conditions, including wearing waterproof or quick-dry clothing. Cape Xtreme and our Quad Biking guides/operators are not responsible for any discomfort caused by wet or muddy conditions.

Late Arrival Policy
Late arrivals or no show forfeits your booking and full cancellation policy applies.
There are / will be other guests booked for the same time slot and group as you, and we can not hold back the group or the rest of the day for anyone (this is not a private tour).
Please understand that permits, quads and guides are booked for you and if you don't show up on time there is no one else that we can fit in on short notice.
If you are later than your arrival time stipulated, there is not enough time for admin, instruction, briefings, fitting of helmets etc. so for late arrivals you will be charged a late arrival fee of R250 per person as our team needs to then make special provisions to take you outside of your booked time slot and to fit you in with other groups.
Please note this is not always easy/possible as we may be fully booked or very busy, and you will then just have to wait and be patient to be helped.
